As for me, I'm pretty sure I have the Garfield "I hate Mondays" on a T-shirt somewhere, saved from 1984 with full confidence that I would hate Mondays until the end of time. So far so good. Like one of those chicken/egg debates, it's hard to tell which came first - my Monday mood? Or all the things that go wrong on Mondays. This includes (but is not limited to) conversations with my sister that go like this:
Me: I ran out of dishwasher tabs.
Her: (stops cleaning out her dishwasher. Sinks slowly to the floor, holds phone with both hands) No.
Her: Full load?
Me: Packed. Of course. Little plates shoved between glasses. Guess what was for supper.
Her: (hand to forehead) No.
Me: Yup. Lasagna.
Her: Did you spray the Pam?
Me: What do you think.
Her: Okay, you're going to have to just move.
Me: I know. I'm packing right now. That's why I called.
Her: NO, wait! I've got it! Buy all new dishes.
Me: (smiling) I knew if we put our heads together...
While putting off thinking of a blog post topic, I updated my "About" section, effectively writing a blog post there (feel free to check it out). Then came back here, thinking no...not good enough, that's cheating.
I was still coming up empty, so I went to my "Contact" section and updated it...a little mini blog post? (feel free to check that out too) Let's just say those count and if you don't agree, we can agree to disagree. If you don't agree to disagreeing (can't catch a break with you, can I), there is another option...
A third and final plan to putting this Monday out of it's Monday misery? I say we all go seek out red-velvet cupcakes. By seek them out, I mean, find them somewhere, buy them and eat them. Alternatively, make them yourself (only if you are a good baker. If you are not a good baker, do not attempt - it will completely defeat the purpose). So yes, red-velvet cupcakes. They are delicious, sugary confections and they are red like hearts and love with fluffy cream-cheese frosting on top. Don't think about the holidays coming up and whether or not you can afford a few red-velvet cupcakes. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Tomorrow is another day. The great part of that is...it's not Monday.
